Teaching Experience
Much like many educators, it was always a dream of mine to become a teacher. This passion really blossomed in 2012, when I took the bull by the horns, and joined the transitional kindergarten program development team for my district. I paved the path in creating a district program ensuring transitional kindergarten students had a developmentally appropriate classroom. I became extremely passionate to be the voice for these littles. On this quest of developing and crafting a program, I quickly learned that there was a deficit of literature that explains what their day looks like. In hopes of building comfort on their first days, I got to work creating Hooray for TK! I am committed to creating more in hopes of building a library meant for early childhood education.

My Teaching Style
I have learned that students learn more with hands-on and active type of activities and engaging, play-based learning environments.

Shining Teacher Moment
Publishing a children's picture book for TK students on the first day of school was definitely a shining teacher moment. After teaching TK for so many years, I noticed TK students did not have a book for the first day of school just for them. I am so proud to have written a book for teachers to read to their TK'ers. But why stop there? I continued my writing journey with Hooray for Pre-k! for those students who do not qualify for TK.
